Let your school group benefit from a huge range of outdoor adventure activities in a beautiful wild forest setting. Choose which of the below activities to include in your trip, or let us provide a suggested itinerary to meet your desired outcomes:
Students learn the basics of fire-making, shelter building, natural water filtration, navigation using the sun and a range of other fascinating wilderness survival skills.
Depending on the age of the students and the number of days, the difficulty level and range of survival activities can be adjusted flexibly.
Camping is an excellent way for school groups to connect with nature, build strong relationships with peers and teachers, and learn valuable life skills. By spending time outdoors and away from screens, students can develop a deeper appreciation for the environment, gain confidence in their ability to navigate the natural world, and learn important survival skills.
Camping also provides an opportunity for students to work together and practice teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Setting up camp, cooking meals, and planning activities require collaboration and cooperation among group members. These experiences can help students develop leadership skills, improve their social skills, and build self-esteem.
Furthermore, camping allows students to disconnect from technology and distractions and focus on personal growth and development. By being away from the noise and busyness of modern life, students can reflect on their values and goals, connect with their inner selves, and cultivate a sense of mindfulness and gratitude.
This classic challenge relates directly to both Survival Training and Civilisation Game, as the ability to build a means of transportation is an important part of both.
It can be chosen as a stand-alone activity or in combination with the others. It can also easily be switched out whenever the weather forecast is not suitable, or if you prefer for your group not to get wet.
Students are challenged to build a raft as a team, using only a limited selection of materials. The ultimate test comes when the teams try out their rafts on the water! Whether the rafts float perfectly or fall to pieces immediately, fun is the outcome either way!
A reflection session afterwards gives students the chance to consolidate what just happened, and consider how they might improve their approach next time. Many well-engraved lessons from the experience are sure to be taken back to the big wide world.
Currently our main location for forest camping activities is in Kimobetsu, Hokkaido. However, the beauty of this activity is that it can actually be done in any suitable location around the country. We have some other spots dotted around Japan that can be used if you prefer to do the trip closer to your school. Please enquire for more info.
